Zoetermeer krijgt een nieuwe vertegenwoordiger in het bestuur van de gemeenschappelijke regeling Bleizo, het gebieds- en mobiliteitssamenwerkingsverband van Zoetermeer en Lansingerland. Het college stelt voor om wethouder Frinking aan te wijzen als plaatsvervangend bestuurslid, in plaats van wethouder Van der Meer. Dat blijkt uit het meest recente raadsvoorstel voor de vergadering van 15 december.

Bleizo richt zich op de ontwikkeling van het gebied rondom station Lansingerland-Zoetermeer, waar woningbouw, mobiliteit en economische ontwikkeling samenkomen. De gemeente Zoetermeer is verplicht om twee bestuursleden en een plaatsvervanger te leveren. Omdat wethouder Frinking verantwoordelijk is voor verkeer en mobiliteit, vindt het college haar beter passen bij de thema’s die in Bleizo spelen.

Met de wijziging blijft Zoetermeer volgens het voorstel “op de juiste manier vertegenwoordigd in regionale beslissingen over bereikbaarheid en gebiedsontwikkeling.” De formele aanwijzing wordt op 15 december in de gemeenteraad behandeld.
