In de Dorpsstraat in Zoetermeer wordt volop gewerkt aan het ophangen van nieuwe versieringen. Op Facebook deelt de winkelstraat zelf een foto waarop te zien is hoe grote kransen, linten en lichtslingers worden bevestigd. Daarmee lijkt de Dorpsstraat zich op te maken voor de feestmaanden.

De foto zorgt online voor reacties. Onder het bericht vragen verschillende volgers zich af waarom de straat nu al in kerstsfeer wordt gebracht, terwijl Halloween nog moet komen en Sinterklaas nog niet in het land is. Ook valt op dat er dit jaar geen sinterklaasversiering te zien is.

Volgens de toelichting op sociale media gaat het om een wissel van de straatversiering, die jaarlijks in deze periode plaatsvindt. De oude decoratie wordt verwijderd en de kerstverlichting alvast opgehangen zodat alles ruim op tijd getest kan worden voor december.

Wie nu door de Dorpsstraat loopt, ziet dus al een vleugje kerst verschijnen. Met rode linten, gouden ballen en lichtslingers die nog even uitgeschakeld blijven tot de officiële aftrap van de feestperiode.
