De gemeente Zoetermeer is op zoek naar een nieuwe Stadsdichter, een rol die een unieke kans biedt voor inwoners van 16 jaar en ouder om hun taalkunst te delen met de stad. Deze functie, ondersteund door Bureau Citymarketing, geeft de Stadsdichter creatieve vrijheid om Zoetermeer op een artistieke manier te vertegenwoordigen. De huidige Stadsdichter, Robbert Roos, draagt na meerdere jaren het stokje over aan een nieuwe, gepassioneerde kandidaat.

De geselecteerde Stadsdichter zal gedurende vier jaar vijf keer per jaar gevraagd worden om zijn of haar werk te presenteren tijdens verschillende lokale evenementen. De kandidaatstellingsprocedure is open tot en met 31 oktober, waarna op 13 november de genomineerden zich presenteren tijdens een feestelijke bijeenkomst.
