NIEUWE WOONTOREN BLAAST STADSHART NIEUW LEVEN IN: 242 BETAALBARE WONINGEN OP VOORMALIGE V&D-LOCATIE

Drie woningcorporaties slaan de handen ineen voor de realisatie van een woontoren van maar liefst 70 meter hoog aan de Duitslandlaan — precies op de plek van de voormalige V&D.

Met deze toren verrijst niet alleen een markant gebouw in het stadsbeeld, maar ook een oplossing voor een groeiend probleem: de woningnood. Het complex telt straks 242 moderne huurwoningen, waarvan driekwart in de sociale sector. De overige woningen vallen in het midden segment. Een forse impuls voor betaalbaar wonen in de stad.

Wethouder Jan Iedema is trots:
“Deze ontwikkeling past perfect binnen onze Visie Binnenstad 2040. Zo transformeren we het centrum van een gesloten winkelgebied naar een open en levendig stadshart. De woontoren is daar een sleutelstuk in.” De gemeente Zoetermeer wil voor 2040 zo’n 2.000 appartementen toevoegen aan het stadscentrum. Deze nieuwe toren levert daar in één klap ruim 10% van.
