In de wijk Noordhove speelt zich een nieuwe thriller af die direct herkenbaar zal zijn voor veel Zoetermeerders. Auteur IJlien Havenaar schreef Moordhove, een compact verhaal waarin moord, dreiging en manipulatie samenkomen. Het Aldo van Eyckpark vormt het decor van de gebeurtenissen. Bekende plekken als decor

De hoofdpersoon in Moordhove is Nina, die een nieuwe start probeert te maken in Zoetermeer. Daarbij belandt zij ongewild in een spel waarin het verleden een gevaarlijke rol speelt. Havenaar, die eerder de feelgoodroman Morgen ben ik van jou schreef, liet zich voor dit verhaal inspireren door haar eigen wijk Noordhove. Lezers zullen bekende locaties in Zoetermeer tegenkomen, waaronder het rosarium in het Aldo van Eyckpark. Volgens de schrijfster is het verhaal volledig fictief, maar de herkenbare decors maken dat de gebeurtenissen dichtbij komen.

Lokale invalshoek

Met haar thrillerdebuut kiest Havenaar voor een ander genre dan voorheen, maar ze combineert dat met een sterke lokale invalshoek. Voor Zoetermeerders kan het lezen van Moordhove daardoor extra spannend zijn, omdat de omgeving waarin het verhaal zich afspeelt voor velen vertrouwd is. De auteur benadrukt dat de personages ontsproten zijn aan haar fantasie, maar sluit niet uit dat lezers zichzelf of bekenden zullen herkennen in de beschreven situaties. “Het kan zijn dat je na dit boek nooit meer op dezelfde manier naar het rosarium kijkt,” aldus Havenaar.
