In de natuurstenen buurt van Rokkeveen zijn recent meerdere pogingen tot inbraak ontdekt. De wijk lijkt doelwit te zijn van criminelen die toeslaan nu veel bewoners op vakantie zijn.

Zomermaanden zijn berucht: maar liefst 30 procent van alle woninginbraken vindt plaats in deze periode. Toch neemt 18 procent van de huishoudens géén enkele maatregel. “Inbrekers kijken vooral naar makkelijke doelen,” waarschuwt schade-expert Jeremy Broekman.

Slechts 15 procent van de Nederlanders vertrouwt op een alarmsysteem. De meeste mensen rekenen op hun buren. Populaire beveiligingsopties zijn camera’s (27 procent) en slimme deurbellen (12 procent).

Tips om je woning te beschermen:

• Zet lampen op een tijdschakelaar
• Laat buren de post weghalen
• Gebruik een slimme deurbel met camera
• Sluit ramen en deuren goed af
• Deel geen vakantieplannen op social media
